Recordings, Videos & Samba Show!

September 18, 2015

Our last couple of weeks have been packed with productions!

Firstly, I have been making way with the production of The Diments Rock Opera album. From finding a violinist (Ruth Klein-Cook),

To already recording with her a big chunk of the album.

Made progress with more keys recording with the amazing Ash Smithers.

More trombone recordings with Black Phillips.

And, rehearsing and recording drum guides with Dan Tozer at Northside School of Music.

Secondly, we just finished producing two exciting crowd funding campaigns’ videos. In a wonderful initiative by the City of Fremantle, new small business are encouraged to come up with a way to give back to the community.

Our first production was a reshoot for Chef Nimrod Kazoom’s new restaurant Kazoomies. A restaurant that is all about giving back left over food back to the community, produce swapping, conserving energy and recycling. Our first shoot a few weeks back was under immense time pressure and suffered from wind noise at the harbor. This time around, we were able to get better footage and sound and work at a more relaxed atmosphere, which yielded wonderful result. We will release it on this blog in a week time.

Our second production was for a Life Cykel – an urban mushroom farm that plans to take coffee waste from local cafes and grow mushrooms out of that! The production was a complex one, requiring footage from various sources, as well as info graphics and voice-overs. The Mayor of Fremantle, Brad Pettitt, makes an appearance on the video officially endorsing the idea. The video will be released in two weeks on our blog, but if you can’t wait till then both videos will be available come Monday at http://www.startsomegood.com

We encourage you to check them out and if you dig their cause, help them out!

Lastly, my new Brazilian samba band, Forty Degrees, is gearing up for its debut show! Next Sunday, the 27th at The Game Sports Bar, event starts at 3PM and music starts around 7PM.

It is a great opportunity to see me play live, as it has been more than a year since I officially played with any band, and to hear a unique mixture of samba and rock music.
